Prepare Your Domain

Get the EPP / Auth code and make sure your domain is unlocked.

Submit the Transfer

Place a transfer order with iCore Hosting and provide the required details.

Approve & Complete

Approve the request when notified. Most transfers complete within 5–7 days.

Before You Transfer

Make sure your domain meets these basic requirements.

What You Need

  • EPP / Auth code from your current registrar.
  • Domain unlocked and ready for transfer.
  • Access to the registrant email address.
  • No active disputes or registry restrictions.

Timing Check

  • At least 7 days remaining before expiry.
  • 14 days remaining is recommended.
  • Not newly registered or transferred within 60 days.
  • Check for recent registrant contact changes.

Your Website & Email Stay Online

Your nameservers and DNS settings normally remain unchanged during the registrar transfer, so your website and email can keep working without interruption.

Important Timing Rules

Check these timelines before starting your transfer.

7–14 Days Before Expiry

Start at least 7 days before expiry. We recommend 14 days for a smoother process.

60-Day Transfer Lock

Newly registered or recently transferred domains are normally locked for 60 days. A registrant change may also trigger a lock.

45-Day Auto-Renew Grace Period

If an expired domain was recently renewed, transferring during this period may cancel the year added by the previous registrar.

Technical & Special Cases

Useful details for less common situations and registry restrictions.

Recently Expired DomainsContact us before transferring a domain renewed after expiry.
A recently expired domain may be inside the registry’s Auto-Renew Grace Period. The previous registrar’s renewal year may be removed when the transfer completes, so confirm the current expiry date and renewal payment before proceeding.
Redemption or Pending DeleteThe current registrar must restore the domain before it can be transferred.
Domains in Redemption Grace Period or Pending Delete cannot be transferred normally. Ask the current registrar about restoration options first.
DNSSECDNSSEC records need careful handling if DNS is also being changed.
A registrar transfer normally leaves nameservers unchanged. If you also plan to change DNS providers, coordinate the DNSSEC and DS records to avoid resolution problems.
Country-Code DomainsExtensions such as .my and .com.my may follow different procedures.
Country-code registries may require additional documents, local presence information or a different authorization process. Our team will confirm the requirements for your extension.
Disputes or Registry RestrictionsLegal, payment or registry restrictions may prevent a transfer.
A transfer may be blocked by an ownership dispute, court order, UDRP proceeding, unpaid previous registration period or registry-imposed status.
