Complete the steps in this sequence: prepare first, start the migration, then verify everything before closing your old hosting.

BEFORE MIGRATION ORDER

Prepare Before You Order

  1. Request one full cPanel backup for each hosting account.
  2. Request the EPP/Auth Code if you are transferring your domain.
  3. Keep your old hosting active and confirm the domain is unlocked.
  4. Check the domain WHOIS/registrant email address. Make sure it is active, accessible to you and able to receive the domain transfer approval email.
  5. For domain transfers, start at least 7 days before expiry; 14 days is recommended.

START MIGRATION ORDER

Order, Upload and Inform Us

  1. Order your iCore Hosting plan and domain transfer if required.
  2. Complete payment and wait for your new hosting account to be activated.
  3. Upload the complete cPanel backup to your new hosting account.
  4. Inform our support team. We will restore an eligible full cPanel backup.

AFTER MIGRATION ORDER

Check Before Closing Old Hosting

  1. Check your website, databases, email accounts and messages.
  2. Update the domain nameservers to iCore Hosting after confirmation.
  3. Allow up to 24 hours for DNS propagation.
  4. Complete the domain transfer, then close the old hosting only after our team confirms completion.

You Only Need to Do 3 Things

  1. Get your cPanel backup and EPP/Auth Code if transferring a domain.
  2. Place your order and upload the backup.
  3. Inform us after the upload is complete.

We Handle the Restoration

Our team will restore an eligible complete cPanel backup at no migration charge and guide you when it is time to check the website and update the nameservers.

Do Not Close Your Old Hosting Yet

Keep it active until your website works on iCore Hosting, your email accounts have been checked, DNS propagation is complete, and our team confirms the migration is finished. Missing files, databases or emails may no longer be recoverable after the old account is closed.

Hosting Migration vs Domain Transfer

You may transfer either service separately, or move both together.

Hosting Migration

  • Moves website files, databases and supported email data.
  • Requires a complete and valid cPanel full-account backup.
  • Does not require an EPP/Auth Code.
  • Eligible cPanel-to-cPanel restoration is free.

Domain Transfer

  • Moves domain registration management to iCore Hosting.
  • Requires the domain to be unlocked.
  • Requires a valid EPP/Auth Code.
  • Transfer or renewal fees may apply.

Before You Transfer Your Domain

  • Start at least 7 days before expiry. We recommend starting 14 days before expiry for a smoother transfer process.
  • Check the 60-day transfer lock. Newly registered or recently transferred domains are normally locked for 60 days. A recent registrant change may also trigger a transfer lock.
  • Be careful after renewing an expired domain. Transferring during this period may cancel the additional year provided by the previous registrar.

Free cPanel-to-cPanel RestorationAvailable for a complete and valid full-account backup.
Free restoration applies when the original cPanel account can be restored without changing its domain or account structure. Manual, selective, merged or restructured migrations may require assessment and additional charges. Read the Free Hosting Migration Policy for full details.
EPP/Auth CodeRequired only when moving the domain registration.
Request the EPP/Auth Code from your current domain provider and make sure the domain is unlocked. You may also need to approve a transfer confirmation email sent to the domain’s administrative contact.
DNS PropagationNameserver changes may take up to 24 hours.
During propagation, some visitors or email messages may still reach the old server. Avoid unnecessary website and email changes and keep the old hosting active until the transfer is confirmed.
